Duke’s Den Notes From Walking Miles Of Aisles At EICMA

Duke’s Den Notes From Walking Miles Of Aisles At EICMA

This was my third consecutive year of reporting from the world’s largest motorcycle show, EICMA, held annually in Milan, Italy. It’s a cornucopia of everything related to motorbikes, and it’s the premier event for unveiling all the new machines preparing to be shipped to dealers around the world. Motorcycle.com once again kicked ass in our coverage, posting no less than 47 articles about the bikes displayed at the show! But I take only the smallest…

2015 EICMA: Honda Integra

2015 EICMA: Honda Integra

Like the NC750S, the Integra scooter is another Euro-only model from Honda not coming stateside for 2016. Displacing 745cc from its liquid-cooled DOHC parallel-Twin, the Integra is the largest displacement scooter in Honda’s line-up. Comparatively, the Silver Wing, last imported to the U.S. in 2013 was a 582cc Twin. If it were our choice, however, we’d preferably see Honda’s City Adventure concept scooter be imported here, as it looks to be a pretty badass scoot….

EICMA 2015: Victory Unveils Project 156-Based Production Engine In Concept Bike

EICMA 2015: Victory Unveils Project 156-Based Production Engine In Concept Bike

When Victory Motorcycles announced in mid-October that it would reveal a new motorcycle at EICMA 2015, riders who follow Victory and its parent company, Polaris, knew that the bike would most likely be the production result of the company’s Project 156 Pikes Peak racing effort from this past summer. Well, they/we were right – and wrong. While the new engine displayed by Victory today is the production version of the Project 156 effort that will power a future 1200cc class motorcycle…

2015 EICMA: Piaggio Medley

2015 EICMA: Piaggio Medley

More news from the Piaggio camp at EICMA 2015 is the Medley scooter. However, it is not slated to come to the U.S. Powered by Piaggio’s new iGet 125cc and 150cc electronically fuel injected, liquid-cooled, four-valve engines, the Medley comes standard with the “Start & Stop” feature, which shuts the engine off at stops to help improve fuel economy. With its large diameter wheels, the Medley should provide superior handling compared to similar scooters in…

2015 EICMA: Honda CB4 Concept

2015 EICMA: Honda CB4 Concept

Honda revealed a couple of concepts based on its 650 models at the 2015 EICMA show. Pictured here is the CB4, a naked roadster, which was joined by the CB Six50 scrambler. No official information was released, as they appear to be a simply design exercises from Honda R&D Europe and unlikely to develop into a production model (but we can hope!). The CB4 concept is equipped with the 649cc Inline-Four powering both the CB650F…

2015 EICMA: Honda CB Six50 Concept

Honda is dipping its toe in the suddenly trendy scrambler waters, introducing a concept model based off of its CB650F and CBR650F platform. The CB Six50 Concept, like the CB4 roadster concept, is a design exercise from Honda R&D Europe presented at EICMA. While the engine and frame appear identical to those on the production 650s, the CB Six50 adopts the prototypical scrambler garb of wire-spoke wheels, knobby tires and rising exhaust. A bash plate…

EICMA 2015: Mondial Hipster 125 & 250

EICMA 2015: Mondial Hipster 125 & 250

Here’s a marque that we didn’t expect to see at EICMA. Mondial has apparently risen from the ashes to produce motorcycles once again. The storied manufacturer started producing motorcycles in Bologna, Italy in 1948 and had a great deal of success in Grand Prix racing and on the Isle of Man in the 50s. Mondial fell on hard times and has previously undergone unsuccessful attempts to revive the marque. MO last tested a Mondial in 2003 during one…
